MIA Appeals to Oprah

MIA has appealed to Oprah Winfrey to step in and assist thousands of people in danger in her native Sri Lanka. The national air force this week bombed civilian camps housing civilians fleeing fighting between the army and the Tamil Tigers. The Grammy-nominated artist met the US chat show supremo at Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People Of The Year” bash this week. In a direct appeal to Winfrey about the 150,000 thought to be in danger, MIA continued: “I WASNT SURE ABOUT MY INFLUENCE BUT……..IF I DO HAVE ANY INFLUENCE, I WISH I COULD GET THE MEDIA TO SPOTLIGHT THIS. “OPRAH CAN YOU DO SOMETHING BOUT THESE CAMPS PLEEEEEEEEEEASE?”, she wrote.
