Why Donate?

The human rights situation in the North-East of Sri Lanka shows no improvement even 10 years after the conclusion of the civil war. With lack of accountability and heightened militarization now more prevalent, the path to self-determination and justice becomes difficult. But it doesn't have to be - civil society organizations on the ground and around the world are continuously advocating for change.

PEARL’s work is needed now more than ever -- as is your support. Our efforts to raise awareness, lobby governments, and mobilize communities to action is happening around the clock and across the globe. Your support is not only a contribution, but a part of our shared struggle to ensure a just political solution for Eelam Tamils who have suffered at the hands of an oppressive state in Sri Lanka.

Your support allows PEARL to continue its urgent advocacy for Tamil rights and its work to achieve justice for the thousands of Tamils who lost their loved ones, homes and livelihoods in Sri Lanka’s genocide. Your contribution reminds all of us that they are not forgotten.

As a donor to PEARL, you will recieve regular communication from our team and access to the latest information from the ground in Sri Lanka.

Please support PEARL on a monthly basis to ensure a strong foundation for our work, in the form of a recurring donation in the amount of $10, $25, $50 or $100 per month. On behalf of our staff and volunteers, thank you for your continued support of PEARL and our work to end the systemic human rights abuses suffered by Tamil people in Sri Lanka. Together we can ensure accountability for past atrocities and help build a brighter future for Tamils in the North-East and the Tamil diaspora.
